When your child turns 18 please have them come in to the office to sign a consent form so we can release information to you if they choose. Otherwise, we cannot legally share any information. We typically do this at the 18 year checkup, but if they do not have an appointment around that time then its a good idea to have them come in early. Thank you!
We continue to provide pediatric care for patients from 18 years to 22 years of age. However, as a reminder, patients in that age group are financially responsible for any balance on their account. This applies even if they are still on their parent’s insurance policy. Likewise, they are responsible for knowing the benefits and limitations of their insurance plan such as which labs and imaging facilities they may use, and, if immunizations are covered on the plan. Parents, make sure you discuss these things with your teen before their next visit!
